Here is where you can give us a link to your reviews of the books you read for the 2013 challenge...but please remember, the challenge starts JANUARY 1st
- any books read prior to this date do not count!!
When you provide the link to your review, please use the following format:
YOUR NAME (Title of Book - page count)
Example: Wendy (Shantaram - 944)
When you provide your link on Mr. Linky, please link DIRECTLY to your
review (not the main page of your blog). Links which only lead to the
main blog will be deleted.
Finally, if you do not have a blog, please leave a comment telling me
which book you read, your thoughts on it, and how many pages it was!
Thanks...and have fun!!!!
how do I sign on please - I have a blog which is just for books but no special page for each challenge i my intentions on http://albertareads.wordpress.com/2013/01/06/books-books-and-more-booksalbertas-2013-challenges/ do I have to put a new linky address in each time I post - I only post on the one page - for whatever book i am talking about challenge or whatever - you say it will be deleated - so am confused as to where or what I am supposed to be doing:( help old lady please
ReplyDeleteHi Alberta - the link you provided is fine - it is NOT a link to just your blog which would be http://albertareads.wordpress.com but instead links directly to a post. Whenever you review a book, simply post the review to your blog as you always do, then click on the title of the post which will take you to the page where that post can be found and that is the address you want to put in the linky. So for example, a link to your review of Purple Hibiscus would look like this: http://albertareads.wordpress.com/2012/10/06/purple-hibiscus-by-chimamanda-ngozi-adichie/
DeleteI hope that makes sense!
Alberta, I went ahead and signed you up for the challenge on the challenge sign up links...if you did not want me to do that, let me know and I'll delete the link :)

ReplyDeleteArgh! Made an error in the link. Then made an error in the comment! Bad day of proofreading.
ReplyDeleteMy first book done but I had some trouble posting, hopefully next time will be better.
ReplyDeleteFirst one done (and I'm halfway through the second, hurray!). Wolf Hall sat on my TBR shelf for too long, and now it finally has its rightful place on the already-read shelf.
ReplyDeleteSorry for posting an incorrect link initially; I went back and corrected. Excited to be part of the challenge again; maybe this year I will finish!
ReplyDeleteThis is my second book for the challenge and I figured out my problem with posting. Thanks for the challenge.
ReplyDeleteFirst book done =) Woot!
ReplyDeleteThis is my 3rd book for the challenge and also the Chunky book club choice for March. Thanks
ReplyDeleteWoo Hoo! One more down!!
ReplyDeleteFinished my first Chunkster, The American Senator by Anthony Trollope. I loved it!

ReplyDeleteWhoops -- realized I had forgotten to include the link to one of my reviews --Reamde! :)
ReplyDeleteI've now finished half the books for the challenge -- but I still have two books of more than 750 pages each! Woo hoo!
ReplyDeleteAfter a massive start with Les Mis, I left my chunksters till the end of the year... I've just finished Cloud Atlas, and am hoping to read two more in the next 3 months to make my four!
ReplyDeleteThis is my 4 entry. I have another book to review and 1 more to read. Thanks
ReplyDeleteJust published my 5th entry. I'll actually have to look for a book for the next entry. Thanks
ReplyDeleteI completely forgot about this post. Thank you, Kya. I have read (and reviewed) so many chunky books in the meantime ... will have to add the links to it asap.
ReplyDeleteMarianne from Let's Read
I just added "Music & Silence" by Rose Tremain, "The Map of Time" by FĂ©lix J. Palma and "Gone with the Wind" by Margaret Mitchell. The latter is the largest of these books but not the largest of the books I read this year. More to follow.
ReplyDeleteMarianne from Let's Read
P.S.: Aren't we supposed to start discussing "Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell"?
Working my way through ..... but getting there. :) Thanks again for hosting this challenge!!
ReplyDeleteI just added three more:
ReplyDelete"The Decameron" by Giovanni Boccaccio, “We need to talk about Kevin” by Lionel Shriver and Cervantes, Miguel de "Don Quixote, vols. 1 and 2" by Miguel de Cervantes, probably the largest book this year.
Marianne from Let's Read
I'm lacking 2 books that are greater than 750 words. Does the Bible count? I read the Bible this year once, finishing in late June. I do not have a 1 post for this though.
ReplyDeleteI finished! Eight chunksters. And I forgot to put a page count on my Monte Cristo entry--it was 1274 pages. Here's the full list: http://howlingfrog.blogspot.com/p/the-chunkster-challenge.html
ReplyDeleteThis was a really great challenge for me, since I tend to put off reading giant books. I loved all of them. Thanks!
Added four more:
ReplyDeletePamuk, Orhan „The Museum of Innocence" - 752 pages
Navarre, Marguerite de "Heptameron" - 544 pages
Ghosh, Amitav “Sea of Poppies” (Ibis Trilogy #1) - 544 pages
Mahfouz, Naguib "Children of of Gebelawi/Children of our Alley" - 464 pages
I have reached my goal at the end of March but will post the rest of the books I read this year (I read 32 so far, including 12 super chunky ones).
