2012 Challenge - Links to Reviews

Here is where you can give us a link to your reviews of the books you read for the 2012 challenge...but please remember, the challenge starts JANUARY 1st - any books read prior to this date do not count!! If you are still reading for the 2011 Challenge (which does not end until January 31st - visit this post to link to your review).

When you provide the link to your review, please use the following format:

YOUR NAME (Title of Book - page count)

Example: Wendy (Shantaram - 944)

When you provide your link on Mr. Linky, please link DIRECTLY to your review (not the main page of your blog). Links which only lead to the main blog will be deleted.

Finally, if you do not have a blog, please leave a comment telling me which book you read, your thoughts on it, and how many pages it was!

Thanks...and have fun!!!!

  17. Doh! I missed the page count in my copy-and-paste selection. I was planning to count The Warmth of Other Suns as 587 pages; it actually had 622 pages, but although I did read the notes, I didn't read the index or the permissions or whatnot. Is that okay?

  27. Sorry, I just put the wrong URL in the link to my last review for A Dance with Dragons - the first one is my blog homepage, the second one is the correct one. Is it possible for you to delete the first one? Sorry about that.

And I've now finished four of my six chunksters! Now I just need to read my two medium-long books between 550 and 750 pages. I've already started one!

  28. I keep forgetting to come back and link the reviews, but I've added three more today. That makes 5, one to go, and you'll see that one soon.

  29. I'm up to my fifth post, only one more to go! I just posted my review of Of Human Bondage. It was just wonderful. Can't decide if I should read Steinbeck or Trollope for my final book -- I'll probably end up reading both.

    1. Karen, you're doing great! I love Steinbeck. Which book of his are you thinking about reading?

    2. East of Eden, his longest work and one that's been on the TBR shelves the longest. I loved it, I'm just sorry I waited so long to read it!

  30. This challenge has worked wonders on my reading style; I'd gotten into the habit of avoiding books of such length when it came to reading them, but still avidly buying them (yikes: they take up so much more room!), and keeping track of them for this has kept them front-of-mind all year. I thought that six was being overly ambitious, but maybe not!

  42. I'm really late posting my update, but I ended up reading 11 in total, far more than I thought, and I no longer have this hesitation to pick up books of this size; even though I'm not joining in this year (simply too far behind with too many things), I credit the challenge with reinspiring me to pick up chunky books: sincere thanks to the hosts! (Update here.)
